About this race
The Old Ephraim 200 is a point-to-point race through the Bear River Mountain Range in Northern Utah. The official route is 215 miles with 40,000 feet of climbing. Runners will experience less than 1.5 miles of pavement, with the rest of the miles being remote single-track trail and ATV/Forest Service roads. Expect dense pines and aspens, open meadows, and long stretches of quiet forested trails.The race gets its name from Old Ephraim, the legendary giant grizzly bear that once roamed these very mountains. Said to stand over 10 feet tall, Old Ephraim became famous for outsmarting hunters for years. His story is a central part of Logan Canyon history. Runners will pass near areas where he was known to travel, as well as enjoying an aid station at his graveside monument. Today, his legend represents toughness, endurance, and the rugged spirit of these mountains—fitting inspiration for a 200-mile journey. The Old Ephraim 200 is more than a race; it’s a deep dive into Northern Utah’s terrain, history, and mountain character.Current Runner's Manualbutton{color: #ffffff; background-color: #5CA921; }
