Ghost Road Trail Run

The 8-mile and 4-mile courses will be at the beautiful Forest Ridge Park Park, just 15 minutes North of Raleigh on Falls Lake! The 587-acre park is situated on a peninsula near the Falls Lake Reservoir in Wake Forest, N.C., and is convenient to Raleigh, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Durham, and Youngsville. Sections of this course will also run on the remains of the abandoned ghost road North Carolina Route 98 highway. When Falls Lake was created in 1981, the surrounding rural community was turned upside down. Many forgotten roadways hint at where farms, homes, and mills once stood. The ghosts of the old roadways can be traced – most leading directly into Falls Lake. Most of this course is single-track, running following the trail system within the park.
