Catching Fireflies 5K Run/Walk

Come out for an evening with friends, family and community to run/walk a 5k at night on a course lined with a fantastic display of luminaries. This unique event is the only luminary run in Raleigh held on a lovely, warm North Carolina evening where you may even have a chance to catch a few fireflies! Check out photos from last year's event! Photos Runners please wear reflective or light up arm bands or vests. It's a sight to behold watching a trail of lights along the quiet streets! At the same time, you can honor a friend or family member who has battled cancer by purchasing a luminary with their name on it - to help light the way for others. 100% of the purchase price of the luminaries goes directly to Cancer Shucks Foundation. In 2023 the event raised over $3,000 to help Cancer Shucks Foundation assist families, dealing with cancer, in ways that affect the family's day to day ability to maintain order in their home as well as their lives.
