Drummer Hill Trail Races

The race will be run on the same course as last year (2024). I get bored of the same thing all the time (maybe you do too), so I try and vary up what trails I use for the race every few years. In the spirit of choosing your own adventure, runners may choose the number of 12.5k laps they would like to complete. If you are new to trail running and just want to check out the Keene scenery, a single loop is a great option. If you want more of a challenge, try your hand at a few more. If you’re like me and the thought of calling it a day after a few laps is just unthinkable, run the full 4 laps for a 50k day out on the hill! No runner will be penalized for not completing the number of laps they sign up for and if you want to run more than you signed up for, well, good for you! We’ll record your finish accordingly! The terrain of Drummer Hill can vary from technical single track to old jeep roads. And seeing that the term “hill” is in the race name, you can expect that there will be a fair amount of elevation change. I can’t express enough that this is a trail race on technical terrain. This is not paved. This is not renovated rail trail. This is not for whiners. This is the woods, where there are a lot of rocks, roots, fallen trees, stream crossings, scenic beauty, and if you’re lucky, some nice wildlife sightings.
