Delaware State Championship, Newark SwimFest and SwimRun

Welcome to the 6th Delaware State Championship of Open Water and SwimRun, presented by French Creek Racing! This event features the following races: 1 mile swim (2 loops) SwimRun ( 1 mile swim , 2.2 mile run - 2 loops swim, then 2 loops run) 1.5 mile swim (3 loops) 0.5 mile swim (1 loop) 1 Mile Swim and SwimRun will start at 9AM 1.5 Mile Swim will start at 10AM 0.5 Mile Swim will start at 11:15AM For an extra challenge, race in all 3! Get 30% off your 2nd race and 45% off your 3rd race. Start/finish area is at the caged area near the top of the hill at the Newark Reservoir. GPS address to parking lot is 240 Old Paper Mill Rd., Newark, DE 19711. There are bathrooms at the parking lot at the bottom of the hill. Please make sure to use facilities as needed before walking up the hill. Additional/overflow parking is located at Timothy's, 100 Creek View Rd., Newark, DE 19711. Register today for your choice of races! Online Registration Closes Thursday, July 10, at 12 midnight. Check-in is available starting at 8:00AM on Saturday June 28. All racers should check in when they arrive. NO REFUNDS and no rain date. In the event of inclement weather, entries will roll into next year's race, or you may defer to another FCR event. A registered athlete may request a deferral to next year's event if they do so at least 14 days prior to the event. A nominal fee shall apply. There will be one nutrition/hydration table near the reservoir entrance (caged area at the top of the hill). We will have water, Gatorade, and Hammer gels at this table. Some light pre-packaged food and beverages will be available for post-race. We will need 8-10 Volunteers for Registration, Timing, and Kayaking. Interested in VOLUNTEERING? SIGN UP HERE ! We will follow the USAT Wetsuit rule of 78º temperature threshold. Should the water temperature exceed 78º, anyone wearing a wetsuit will not be counted in the official results. Should the water temperature exceed 84º F, no wetsuits may be worn. Water temperature is likely to be above 78º at this time of year.
