On Thanksgiving morning, join thousands of neighbors at Freedom Plaza for SOME’s 25th Annual Trot for Hunger 5K and Little Turkey 1-Miler . Whether you’re chasing a personal best, walking with family, or cheering from the sidelines, every stride fuels change. Together, we’ll transform a holiday run into hope for our community—supporting meals, housing, healthcare, and job training for those most in need. In-Person Race & Festival: Join us at Freedom Plaza on November 26, 2026 - Thanksgiving morning - for a timed 5K, the Little Turkey 1-Miler, and a family-friendly finisher festival! Virtual Race: From November 1-30, run a 5K from your neighborhood or local park while raising funds and spreading awareness of SOME's mission! Help us reach all 50 states and expand our global participation! This Thanksgiving, let’s make every mile matter. Event Timeline 6:30 am - Bib Pick Up Opens on Freedom Plaza 7:30 am - Little Turkey 1-Miler Starts 8:15 am - 5K Starts 8:45 am - 5K Start Line Closes 9:00 am - Awards Ceremony 9:30 am - Best Dressed Turkey (Pet Costume) Competition 10:30 am - Roads Re-open ALL PARTICIPANTS must register and pay online. There is no in-person registration or in-person payment at packet pick-up or on site on race morning. Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up *** Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up is your only opportunity to pick up your t-shirt before the race. If you do not attend pre-race packet pick-up, you will not be able to pick up your t-shirt until after 9:00 am on race day.*** Tuesday, November 24 & Wednesday, November 25. Locations and times coming soon! *Please note there is no water stop on the course. There will be bottled water at the finish line.
