Transplant Run 5K

Atrium Health’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute’s Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant team will be hosting an annual 5K run/walk to support our heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support patients. This special event not only brings the community together, but also helps raise crucial funds for heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support patients who face financial barriers to their treatments. Your participation will contribute directly to our patient needs fund to purchase essential medications, medical equipment, and even the costs of daily necessities—such as electricity that powers their heart pumps. Every dollar raised goes directly to providing financial assistance to patients in need, ensuring they can continue their journey toward better health and quality of life. We’ll also celebrate and honor heart transplant and VAD recipients at the event, many of whom will be walking or running alongside you. The 5K takes place at McAlpine Greenway park. Parking: Park Rangers will direct participants on where to park once inside the park and will ensure that accessible parking is available.
