Tour de Wyoming 2026
Powell, WY • July 12, 2026
The 2026 Tour de Wyoming gathers in Powell, Wyoming on July 11. We have a mandatory orientation meeting at 7 p.m. that evening, then we start riding the next day. Day 1 (Sunday, July 12), 56 miles - We spend the day pedaling a large loop, exploring the Bighorn Basin, passing through several small towns and pedaling rolling terrain along the Shoshone River before returning to Powell for the night. Day 2 (Monday, July 13), 74 miles - We start the day with a repeat of the route from Day 1 before heading to the northwest and into Montana. We tackle the long climb as the route turns due west toward Red Lodge. The final miles descend into Red Lodge, but our overnight stay is on a bench above town on the west side, at the fairgrounds. Day 3 (Tuesday, July 14), 65 miles - We start the day with a short climb out of Red Lodge and then a nice decent on the route we climbed up on Day 2. We turn south and cross back into Wyoming and continue on to Cody where we will spend the next two nights. Day 4 (Wednesday, July 15), 78 miles - We have an out-and-back route that goes from Cody, along the edge of Buffalo Bill State Park via the Lower Southfork Road, and then rejoining the Southfork Road that parallels the Southfork Shoshone River. Riders can turn around whenever they choose. Day 5 (Thursday, July 16), 77 miles - We head east out of Cody with a gradual descent for about 30 miles before we turn north along a low-traffic highway, going parallel to the Sheep Mountain Uplift, to end the day in the friendly community of Lovell. We will be camped at the high school for the night. Day 6 (Friday, July 17), 28 miles - This day we leave Lovell and take mostly county roads back across the Bighorn Basin to return to where we started in Powell.
