Steps for Safe Water 5K

New and exciting race benefiting WaterStep coming to Lynn Family Stadium September 20th, 2025 Steps for Safe Water 5K is a run to show solidarity with those who struggle to access safe water worldwide. On average, people travel more than 3 miles to access water, and usually, it still isn't safe to drink. Women and children are disproportionately affected by the challenges this poses, creating barriers to education and upward mobility. Packet Pick-up 6:30 AM at Lynn Family Stadium Parking Everyone will park in the purple lot (350 Adams St.). There will not be a parking fee. Through leadership, service, and advocacy, Teen Board members engage in fundraising events, community outreach, and educational activities to raise awareness about the global water crisis. The board also offers students an opportunity to develop leadership skills, collaborate with peers, and make a meaningful impact both locally and globally. As part of WaterStep’s global campaign, The Beautiful Game vs. The Greatest Crisis, the WaterStep Teen Board is proud to present the inaugural Steps for Safe Water 5K. This event, set for September 20, 2025, at Louisville’s Lynn Family Stadium – home to LouCity and Racing Louisville – aims to raise awareness and funds to combat the global safe water crisis. The 5K invites participants to run or walk a distance of 5 kilometers, symbolizing the average daily journey many people in the Global South make to collect water. By organizing this event, the Teen Board joins WaterStep’s larger initiative to harness the passion and global reach of the soccer community – including clubs, players, fans, and sponsors – in the fight to bring safe water to those in need.
