Smoky Mountain Very Scary 5K

The Very Scary 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run will start from The Abbey in Townsend , and will feature the scariest swag in the history of Very Scary 5Ks! Race, run, walk, or zombie crawl 5K (that's 3.1 long miles if you're a zombie) and take home: Large baton glow stick Scary medal (but you gotta' cross that finish line!) Killer lanyard attached to that scary medal (if the zombies don't get you!) Spine-chilling long sleeve t-shirt (relaxed fit, crazy comfy!) Bloodcurdling decal A branded race bag The 5K & 1 mile runs start at 8:00 pm EDT, with full support along the way and a guaranteed good time. You might even (OK you almost certainly will!) experience a scary sighting along the course! Awards will be determined as follows - Unique awards in the following categories, both male and female: - Open (defined as fastest finish age 1 and and above, not limited to 1-39) - Masters (defined as fastest finish age 40 and above, not limited to 40-49) - Grandmasters (defined as fastest finish age 50 and above, not limited to 50-59) - Veterans (defined as fastest finish age 60 and above, not limited to 60-69) Although the race is chip timed, awards are based on gun time per USATF regulations. Awards Ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 PM. Participants must be present to receive awards. Awards not picked up on race day will be donated and will not be shipped. Sign up early to get your preferred shirt size! We'll be printing shirts a week before the race, and if you sign up late your size might be all gone. Shirts will not be held or mailed to participants. Due to insurance regulations we can't have pets, strollers, wagons, roller skates, skateboards, scooters, parachute pants, or Members Only jackets on-course. But we can have costumes! Show up and show out in your best Halloween costume. We will start the costume contest 1 hour before race start, promptly at 7:00 PM. Awards will be presented for the top costumes.
