Run Rabbit Run 50 & 100 Miler

The courses are spectacular 50 and 100 mile runs through the beautiful mountains and fall colors of the Routt National Forest of northern Colorado. The 100 mile run will also run through lovely Emerald Mountain. The 50 mile race starts bright and early at 6 am at the Steamboat Springs ski area (elevation, 6,900 feet) on Saturday, September 14, 2024 and proceeds up, up, up to Mount Werner (elevation, 10,568 feet) then goes up and down and up and down some more and then across the Continental Divide to Rabbit Ears Mountain (elevation, 10,500 feet) before heading back and way down to the ski area. The 100 mile course will also start at the base of the ski area and encompass Buffalo Pass (elevation, 10,300) and Emerald Mountain, with a few nice little hops through town. It will be tough. Tortoises will start Friday, September 13, 2024 at 9 am Hares at 1 pm also on Friday. For those of you that are Rabbit-fast, our 100 miler will offer real prize money, $75,000 in total, with a guaranteed $15,000 to the winners. We also have a Team Challenge with $5,000 to the winning team! Please see the website for details. The 50 mile course will have nearly 9,000 feet of climbing. The 100 mile course will have approximately 22,000 feet of climbing. Both courses will test the endurance and spirit of any runner, whether you’re a tortoise or a hare.
