Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of historic Route 66 by hitting the pavement at the 5th Annual Route 66 Mother Road 5K Foot Race on Sunday, September 27, 2026 in downtown Springfield. Packet pickup and start line is on the northeast corner of Old State Capitol Plaza. This isn’t just a race—it’s an experience. You’ll run the streets alongside the iconic classic cars of the International Route 66 Mother Road Festival , soaking in the sights, sounds, and nostalgia of America’s most famous highway. All participants earn cool Route 66–themed swag , including a finisher medal, event T-shirt, and more.
