Al Gordon epitomized NYRR's dedication to inspiring and supporting runners of all ages. As a former collegiate track star, Gordon enjoyed an illustrious 80-year career in finance, all while serving and served as an NYRR board member and passionate supporter. Remarkably, he took up marathon running in his 80s, maintaining an active lifestyle until his passing in 2009 at the impressive age of 107. Embrace your goals and come to Brooklyn to honor Gordon's lasting legacy, as we celebrate a new distance with the same enduring spirit. Member-Only Standby List Active NYRR members can read about and join the Member-Only Standby List here.  The Member-Only Standby List is a perk for NYRR members who are willing to participate in an NYRR race if entries become available after registration has closed. These individuals will be invited to register for the race on a first-come, first-served basis.
