In the Heat of the Night

This is a loop course on the Talladega Forest roads surrounded by forest and the Pinhoti Trail. The race starts at the infamous or not so infamous ���Frog Pond Overlook��� which is an overlook for you guessed it�Ķno not frogs, BIRDS. The course is comprised of maintained dirt and gravel forest roads the entire loop. This was Alabama���s first 100k trail race. So, what���s better than being the first 100k trail race? A NIGHT 100k trail race! Grab your headlamp (or Kogalla), reflective gear and get ready to run from sunset to sunrise. All race distances start at 6:00PM on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The direction of the course will change each year. EVEN years, the course will run COUNTER CLOCKWISE. ODD years, the course will run CLOCKWISE. .
