“Howdy Folks! Welcome to Golden, where the west RUNS!” CELEBRATING OUR 20TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GALLOP The Golden Gallop will be on Sunday, September 20, 2026. DON'T MISS THE 20TH ON THE 20TH! Golden’s biggest annual race will take place for the 20 th year running! We look forward to seeing everyone on our same great course through downtown under the Golden 'Welcome' arch, with the start and finish at Golden High School. This Golden Gallop will lead it's runners on 5k and 10k loops as in previous year. Don't miss the exciting new attractions for our 20th anniversary Golden Gallop: NEW event - 20K Challenge NEW long sleeve sports performance tee NEW store items Spaghetti Dinner hosted at the Golden Hotel Recognition of # of Golden Gallops completed New excitement along the course New sponsorship levels The Golden Gallop is again welcoming well behaved DOGS this year to the 5K and 10K!! Be sure to register your dog in the "Add On" section if your dog is joining you this year. Registered dogs will receive a Gallop give away such as a bandana, collar charm, etc. which will be included in your race packet. Note: Dogs can NOT participate in the Kids Fun Run. Runners with dogs and/or strollers must be at the back of the pack of racers at the starting line. Choose from these FOUR events: 5K 10K Kids Fun Run 20K Challenge - this year only! (only the 10K will be completed and timed on race day) Sleep In - For those that can't make it on race day or just want to sleep in Other Important Info: We are offering $150 first place; $100 second place; $50 for third place. These amounts will be for both the male and female for both the 10K and the 5K (total of 12 cash awards). Age group awards will also be given out - Age group categories for both the 5K & 10K are as follows - M/F for all age groups (10 and Under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80+) In addition, anyone who sets a new course record will receive a $100 bonus. We can not guarantee t-shirt size availability as we get closer to the race day (register by September 1st to guarantee t-shirt size). GSF is a 501(c)(3) formed to help encourage a high level of performance and accountability at the Golden neighborhood articulation schools. The Golden Gallop helps make it possible to provide $40,000 in support to our Golden schools on an annual basis.
