The first Pride Run, held in Central Park in 1982, was a landmark race and marked the start of an enduring collaboration among Front Runners New York, New York Road Runners, and the City of New York. The race continues to celebrate LGBTQIA+ pride and the ongoing movement toward equality, diversity, and inclusiveness. The 2019 event broke the Guinness World Record for largest pride charity run with more than 10,200 finishers! NEW for this Race! Reusable Cups Following a successful 2024 pilot, NYRR will continue its partnership with Cup Zero to reduce single-use waste. Reusable hydration cups will be available at the Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run 4M and other select races throughout the year. Runners are strongly encouraged to return their cups to the designated receptacles in the post-finish area. NYRR volunteers will be available to assist. Returning the cup ensures it can be cleaned and reused—supporting both the environment and the program’s success. Why Race With New York Road Runners? When you run with NYRR, you do more than compete in a world-class race—your support and participation play a role in fulfilling our vision is to build healthier lives and stronger communities through the transformative power of running, and benefit NYRR’s free youth and community programs, including Rising New York Road Runners, NYRR Striders, Open Run, and more.
