Ewok and Run 5K to benefit Teacher's Pet

Teacher's Pet is an innovative program that transforms the lives of at-risk youth by blending shelter dog care and welfare with Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and trauma-informed practices. By partnering with juvenile justice and community mental health settings, we offer a unique 10-week curriculum where students learn critical life skills, such as empathy, patience, and responsibility, through hands-on interaction with shelter dogs. Our evidence-based approach not only empowers these young individuals to overcome emotional and behavioral challenges but also prepares them for vocational opportunities in animal care. We are currently running programs in Pontiac and Macomb. IN A FACILITY (NOT SO) FAR FAR AWAY....
