District Dash 5KThe Beaufort County School District (BCSD) is excited to host the District Dash 5K on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach, Hilton Head Island. This community event is designed to promote exercise, wellness, and healthy habits across all schools. Event OverviewStudents, families, and community members are encouraged to participate alongside their school groups. When registering, participants can choose which school they are supporting. Families with students at multiple schools may select more than one. The top 3 schools with the most overall race participation will receive a wellness funding prize to support their school’s MUSC Wellness Program. What’s New for 2026Beach Clean-Up: High schools interested in participating for community service hours or helping with event organization are encouraged to email Emily.Gray@beaufort.k12.sc.us. .5 DASH for Elementary Students: A new half-mile race just for elementary school participants. Registration required. Start time: 9:00 AM. Brooks’ Marathon Kids Partnership: Elementary schools using the free Marathon Kids tracking program through PE, recess, or running clubs can log miles throughout the year. Students who complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) during the 2025–26 school year will be recognized at District Dash. The school with the most Marathon Kids participants will also receive a portion of race proceeds as a wellness donation.Buddy Run/Walk: High schools with a Buddy Club for exceptional students are invited to highlight partner pairs during the event.
