Be A Light' 5K Mental Health Awareness Fun Run

Check-In Location: 927 Main Street, Holy Cross, IA (Directly across from Neumann’s Bar & Grill) Registration Information Participants ages 5 and under may participate free of charge and are not required to register. Registration is required for all participants ages 6 and older. Event Schedule: 8:00 AM – Check-In Opens 9:30 AM – Check-In Closes 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Enjoy the Holy Cross Market during check-in 9:30 AM – Opening Remarks 10:00 AM – Kids Fun Run Community 5K – Immediately following Kids Run About the Event After the Kids Run, participants are invited to join the Community 5K! Holy Cross offers a close-knit community that reflects the heart of rural Iowa. We are excited to showcase the town's charm, beauty, and views along the 5K route, highlighting what makes rural Iowa so special. Whether you are a seasoned runner or simply looking to enjoy a walk, this event is designed for all. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace. This is a community-centered event focused on connection, action, and showing up for one another in meaningful ways. The Be A Light Project, Inc. Founded in 2025, The Be A Light Project is an Iowa-based nonprofit created with a vision to change how mental health is viewed and discussed. The annual ‘Be A Light’ Mental Health Awareness 5K is one of many opportunities where awareness, support, and resources are brought closer to home. Throughout the year, The Be A Light Project shows up in communities to spark connection, share tools, and remind individuals that their stories matter. Through prevention-focused programming and community events designed to inspire hope, individuals and families feel seen, supported, and empowered. Proceeds Funds raised from this event will support The Be A Light Project’s community-based education and outreach programs. These efforts focus on increasing awareness, improving understanding, and empowering action around brain health in rural communities.
