About this race
Visits a world where lifestyles have remained almost unchanged for over a hundred years. One of the friendliest rides around, you’ll enjoy seeing and meeting families, women’s groups, regional cycling clubs, and tandem pairs who tell us they love our routes because they are so “tandem friendly.” There are wide open spaces, clean country air, friendly people and lots of great food. There is plenty to explore, experience and eat. Amishland and Lakes is famous for great SAG food (watermelons, grapes, plum, blueberries, bananas, cookies and more), and there are also Amish bakeries, restaurants and homemade ice cream parlors along the route. This year we have a food truck serving breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Bike rentals are available from Spin Zone , Granger, IN 574-243-4994 and Pumpkinvine Cyclery , Middlebury and Elkhart, IN 574-825-2252. The routes range from 22 to 100 miles, offering smooth, quiet roads, where buggies are numerous and cars are few (both days begin and end at the Community Building at the 4-H Fairgrounds). We also offer directions for a do-it-yourself Friday option to ride the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail . Camping is available at the 4-H Fairgrounds at our start location. More information can be found at the Amishland and Lakes website.
Helmets are required.
